Review

Tanya Barnard and Sarah Kramer, self-described vegan warriors and
authors of the bestselling How It All Vegan: Irresistible Recipes for an
Animal-Free Diet, pick up where they left off by serving up a hip and
chatty smorgasbord of delectable vegan dishes, funky pictures, personal
stories, and colorful artwork.

The authors create a sense of fun through recipe names like Dean Dean
the Sex Machine’s Spiced Baked Donuts and Get Your Motor Running
Smoothie. The recipes are easy to prepare and call for ingredients
easily obtainable from a local grocery or health-food store. Barnard and
Kramer advocate an animal-friendly, cruelty-free vegan lifestyle and, to
this end, offer suggestions for a Stitch and Bitch, slumber parties, and
homemade vegan beauty treatments. The book includes a useful glossary
that lists and describes all animal-derived ingredients and a list of
places where one can purchase vegan products (shoes, clothing, etc.).

The Garden of Vegan offers a vegan feast of delights for practising
vegans and anyone else who wants to sample great food.
