Review

While not the most charismatic fauna, sea slugs are a fascinating group
of animals. This welcome field guide to the natural history of the Bay
of Fundy region focuses on the diversity and general biology of sea
slugs; outlines the methods for collecting, preserving, and
photographing the molluscs; and provides pictorial keys for identifying
47 species as well as full descriptions of each species. The
descriptions are presented in a chatty format, and include such
intriguing tidbits as the ability of at least one species to pump out
free sulphuric acid. The pocket-sized guide also includes useful line
drawings, a glossary of terminology, appendices, and an index.

Sea Slugs of Atlantic Canada and the Gulf of Maine is highly
recommended for coastal natural-history collections.
