Review

This book was first published in 1972; the sixth edition was reviewed in CBRA 1983, entry 4125. It is a basic how-to-do-it manual on the ins and outs of business incorporation in Ontario. A kit, which may be purchased separately for the same price of $14.95, contains blank copies of the forms that must be used.

Topics covered include how to carry on a business, incorporated proprietorship, types of shares, tax advantages, organization and conducting of meetings, and assets. While dissolution is covered, bankruptcy is not. There are samples of 37 forms and a detailed checklist of the steps to be followed. Readers are reminded that the material here concerns private corporations only — that is, it does not cover companies that issue publicly traded shares.
