Review

Written to reflect Canadian law and practice, this highly readable book
is filled with sound, basic financial and investment advice relevant to
many aspects and stages of life. Since the information presented is
equally relevant to both genders, it is not clear why the intended
audience is restricted to women.

Investment planning; investment strategies; financial, estate, and tax
planning; wealth accrual; wealth management; dealing with sudden,
lump-sum acquisitions—all are addressed clearly and helpfully. The
specifics of estate taxation in each province are noted, together with
information to help predict taxes on individual estates. Appendixes
include a net worth worksheet; a budget worksheet; a wealth allocation
model; advice on choosing a financial adviser, a lawyer, an accountant,
and other professional advisers; an estate-planning checklist; and an
outline of the duties of an executor.

Men and women alike will benefit from this immensely useful book.
