Review
The art of cooking and the art of cartooning are happily married in this
minuscule book. Twenty recipes. Twenty full-color humorous paintings.
Twenty smiles.
The recipes were selected for their value as subjects for visual puns.
Take the names literally and you’ll have a good idea why the author
included such dishes as Angels on Horseback, Pigs in Blankets,
Fiddleheads, Asparagus Spears, Chicken а la King, Banana Loaf, and
Devilled Eggs. While the recipes are complete and could be used in the
kitchen, the book is more likely to be purchased for its tongue-in-cheek
humor. Without the art, the recipes lack distinction or a reason to be
published.
