Review

Visitors and Vancouverites alike will enjoy exploring the best the city
and its environs have to offer, guided by the experiences of independent
inspectors and local contributors who have gone before. The 175 best
restaurants are featured first, critically evaluated and ranked
according to a star system. Their reviews include a description of the
decor and ambience, food specialties, price-range, bar availability,
credit cards accepted, and the restaurant’s address, telephone number,
and days open. The restaurants are arranged alphabetically and also
listed by star rating, by location, and in a classified list by types of
food and features.

Other chapters describe the best of Vancouver’s nightlife, arts,
tourist attractions, shopping, lodgings, excursions, sports, recreation,
transportation, and services. An events calendar, master index, and maps
complete the guide. Readers are invited to send the publishers their own
experience-based reports and recommendations in any category for
consideration in future editions.

Geographically, the guide covers Greater Vancouver from the North Shore
to White Rock, and from the West Side to New Westminster, plus
selections from areas within easy-driving distance of Vancouver such as
Vancouver Island, the coastal mountains, and the Okanagan.

Vancouver Best Places is an easy-to-use, credible source of shopping
and recreational information for the region.
