Review

Down Milligan Creek way, out on the prairies, the inhabitants are
hard-drinking, hard-hitting, tough-talking, gear-shifting men and the
large-breasted, tight-jeaned, sexy women who throw themselves at the
heroes. This is the manly territory of baseball games, hangovers, broken
tractors, big trucks, and short sentences. In these detailed stories,
which follow the characters from the 1950s to the present, Klebeck has
skilfully created a vivid picture of a very specific masculine world.
