Review

This collection is made up of a number of historical pictures and stories that were originally published in the St. Catharines Standard. Appropriately titled, it provides the reader with a series of brief glimpses into the history of the St. Catharines area. The articles which make up the collection cover a wide range of subjects. Each contribution is very short, no more than one page, and is accompanied by a black-and-white photograph. The individual stories that comprise the collection have been contributed by a number of different authors. The book contains an index, but no footnotes or bibliographical references are provided. This slender volume will appeal primarily to those interested in the history of St. Catharines and in Ontario local history.
