Review

Lois Simmie is a born storyteller. Her handsomely presented album of Pictures captures perfectly the essence and reality of the individual, whether of an ailing child, a life-chilled office worker living in lonely terror, a despairing alcoholic, a sun-warmed bikini girl who has found the lover promised in her pet Harlequin romance but is losing him to sobriety and cold reality, and many more. Eleven stories, each a thing of polished beauty, make up a collection that leaves the reader hoping that there will in time be more.
