Review

In 1966, a car accident left Edda Maria Favretto-Post a survivor of
traumatic brain injury at the age of 26. One Day She Will Fly chronicles
her life following the accident.

The book’s detailed description of the mental and physical sequelae
of brain injury provides vivid and distressing insight into this
not-infrequent condition. It also addresses the lack of adequate
services for brain-injured individuals and their families; brain
injuries in general; rehabilitation; recent research in neurosurgery;
trauma care; methods of managing neuromuscular problems; and post-injury
social and employment barriers.

This informative and well-documented book would be a useful resource
for families, friends, and medical staff who work with victims of brain
injury.
