Review

Mike Cassidy is a professional hockey player. For years, he had been one of the superstars of the game. Now divorced, almost broke, and much the worse for wear and tear, he suddenly finds himself nearing the end of his lengthy career with little to show for it and no future prospects. Traded from the New York Rangers to the Montreal Canadians, he makes one last desperate gamble to assure some kind of future for himself.

This well-written, highly readable novel takes the reader into the world of professional hockey and behind the scenes into the office lives of the players. The good plot line sustains the reader’s interest, and the book has a surprise, twist ending.

The author is a Montreal writer who lives within walking distance of the Forum.
