Review

The legendary sleuth of Baker Street continues to attract new generations of readers and admirers. In this short study, the reader is presented with a very brief, highly selective introduction to the famous Sherlock Holmes. The work itself is arranged alphabetically in dictionary fashion and includes a series of quotations and illustrations of the great detective’s work arranged according to the various letters of the alphabet. It also includes a number of illustrations that originally appeared in the Strand Magazine. This book originated as an elementary school project and was subsequently expanded into the present form. Its brevity and narrow focus render it of little value to either the general reader or the Holmes specialist.
