The book is illustrated throughout mainly with diagrams and black-and-white photographs. The author is very well qualified, since he has been writing for some time about photography, bicycling, and camping; he is truly a triple threat. The appendices are useful: names and addresses for government tourist information, bicycling clubs, lists of equipment, and even a bibliography for further reading. All the book lacks is an index.
