Review

Businesses, like gardens, go through natural cycles of growth, maturity, and decline. Ignoring or fighting these cycles seldom produces the best outcome and makes the whole experience far more difficult than necessary. Working a garden—or a business—can also be stressful and unsatisfying if its needs do not fit comfortably with one’s personal nature and life environment. This thought-provoking guide is intended to help both current and prospective entrepreneurs become aware of the normal “seasons” of a business as well as their own natures and values. They can then choose and build a business with characteristics that complement their own, giving them balance and fulfillment rather than anxiety and discontent. The emphasis is on developing “Whealth,” a healthy relationship to money, while building a healthy business from the ground up.
