Review

College students, newly weds, empty nesters, childless couples,
retirees. Many segments of today’s society need to prepare food in
small quantities. Not all recipes fit this niche, so this carefully
selected and tested collection fills a widespread need.

The recipes cover appetizers, breads, main dishes, soups, salads,
beverages, and desserts. All are easy to follow, use readily available
ingredients and, above all, are practical. Real food for real people.

The recipes fit into that hard-to-define category of not too extreme
and not too routine. They’re comfortable variations on old favorites,
nothing shocking or pretentious, just innovative ways of adding a new
interest to the familiar. Each recipe includes information on calories,
fat, protein, and sodium content, making it easy to incorporate them
into planned diets.

With a user-friendly tone, color photos to “sell” the recipes, a
practical layout and open-flat binding, the book is another attractive,
useful addition to the Company’s Coming list.
