Review

The history of maple syrup production, nutritional information, lots of
colorful illustrations, and more than two dozen recipes pack this
miniature book.

Size is the dominant characteristic here. Except for its hard covers,
it compares to the sort of promotional piece handed out by food
producers.

Although the recipes touch on the obvious areas (breakfast dishes,
salad dressings, meat glazes, desserts), they’re too few and too
difficult to read to be taken seriously. The illustrations are nice but
not exceptional. The color throughout adds a touch of richness.

This pleasant little work would be suitable for tucking into a gift
basket or Christmas stocking.
