Review

This great cookbook for vegan families has loads of tasty recipes that
kids and parents will love. The first section features the recipes,
which are organized under the headings “Breakfast and Brunch,”
“Muffins, Baked Goods and ‘On the Go’ Snacks,” “Vinaigrettes,
Sauces and Toppings,” “Salads, Sides, Spreads and Appetizers,”
“Soups and Stews,” “Main Courses,” and “Sweets and Treats.”
The recipes are easy to read, and those that are wheat-free are labelled
clearly. Many recipes have cooking substitutes and serving suggestions.

One section of the book focuses on how to cook grains and beans, and
there is a very useful chapter for vegan parents (“Feeding Your Vegan
Baby and Toddler”) that breaks down by age what foods to introduce
into a baby’s diet.

Vive Le Vegan! is much more than a cookbook; it is also a guide to
healthy vegan living. A glossary and an index round out this fabulous
resource.
