Review

This is a pocket-sized collection of recreational activities that can be
enjoyed while exploring Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The activities
are classified by type: adventures; beach combing, beach walks,
swimming; discovering nature; hiking; history excursions; picnic parks;
tours; waterfalls. The hiking section is the largest and includes 15
coastal and 18 woodland trails. Those touring by car will find the notes
on potteries, historic sites, leather works and other crafts outlets,
picnic spots, and scenic stops interesting and useful. The selection of
activities includes something for every range of physical fitness, from
viewing scenery from the comfort of a car to strenuous hikes over rugged
cliffs.

Clearly written and adequately illustrated with simplified maps and a
few black-and-white photos, the work is a great vacation planner.
