Review

Those who like lists will like this book; it’s organized as sets of
lists, prefaced by succinct, albeit thoughtful, introductory
discussions. Each chapter (or section) focuses on a topic of particular
interest to elementary-school teachers (although many of the ideas could
be easily and usefully adapted for high-school students). Topics are
teacher–student communication, rapport, peer relations, teaching
techniques, tips for efficient classrooms, effective use of volunteers,
learning aids for students, and survival tips for teachers.

This clearly written, well-organized, and imaginative book is a
treasure trove of useful tips. The suggestions provided in the lists are
so well conceived and of such a variety that even the experienced
teacher will find some new ideas. Highly recommended.
