Review

Get out the Encyclopedia of British Columbia and a good dictionary! Here
are 25 crossword puzzles packed with facts about the province and its
history from the earliest explorations to the present day. They are
chronologically arranged, and each one focuses on a particular period in
B.C.’s history. Liberally interspersed among the general-knowledge
definition-type clues familiar to crossword puzzlers are clues that in
themselves impart information and send the dedicated puzzler off to the
reference books in search of the person, place, or thing in question.
The less dedicated will find the solutions in the back of the book.
While the puzzle layouts lack the symmetrical perfection of the
mass-market crosswords in newspapers and puzzle books, the clues are
fresh, intriguing, and not overly easy for the average puzzler. A great
way to explore British Columbia from an armchair or a classroom.
