Review
Adam Pettle, a recent graduate of the National Theatre School’s
playwriting program, is currently playwright-in-residence at the
Canadian Stage Company where he is completing a production draft of his
latest play, Zadie’s Shoes. Therac 25 is a powerful, fiercely honest
play about Alan and Moira, two young people who meet and fall in love
while undergoing cancer treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
There isn’t a false note in the whole piece. Pettle, himself is a
cancer survivor, masterfully handles the transitions between humor and
deeply felt emotion. He is clearly a playwright to watch.
