This handy pocket guide will provide visitors to Toronto with a concise
overview of the city, including places to visit, restaurant listings,
travel tips, and trivia. A useful feature for residents and visitors
alike is the series of neighborhood profiles devoted to 35 inner-city
neighborhoods. Each profile presents a detailed map on one page
identifying interesting places to visit, hotels, restaurants, services,
shops, parking lots, one-way streets, and subway stations. The second
page offers a historical description and suggested neighborhood
experiences; for example, in the Davisville area, visitors are invited
to check out one of the last lamp makers in the city.

Readers will appreciate the guide’s user-friendly format. The
CityPlaces section introduces hundreds of interesting sites, including
art galleries, museums, places of worship, and entertainment and sports
facilities. CityLife & Entertainment provides information on annual
events, theatre, ballet, cinema, music, and professional sports.
CityFood lists close to 400 restaurants, including the 10 best places
and best value for money, and reviews 100 popular restaurants according
to nationality or food type. There is also a street index, a list of
helpful city Web sites, a general index, and a special section to assist
visitors navigating their way around Toronto for the first time. While
there are no photographs of Toronto landmarks, the guide contains more
than 60 maps identifying over 1500 sites. Even Toronto residents are
sure to find some unknown places of interest worthy of a weekend visit.
