Review

This book consists of 28 bios of famous goaltenders, a list of
award-winning goaltenders, some action photos, a transcript of a
conversation with two NHL goaltenders, and a review of the
qualifications needed for playing the position. Much of this latter
review appeared in Young’s previous books, Behind the Mask and Beyond
the Mask. The author’s conversational style is intimate and friendly
but also somewhat rambling, as he discusses everything from amateur
psychology to goaltending milestones. Essentially, this is a book of
goalie trivia fleshed out with a chapter of fundamentals taken from
previously published books.
