Review

For those Roman Catholics interested in pilgrimages to Canadian shrines,
this book will be of some interests. For most other readers, The Novalis
Guide will be largely a curiosity.

There is an all-too-brief 10-page introduction to pilgrimages in
general. Then there are brief descriptions of a select number of
Canadian shrines—12 in Newfoundland, 4 in Nova Scotia, 3 in Prince
Edward Island, 10 in New Brunswick, 85 in Quebec, 17 in Ontario, 9 in
Manitoba, 24 in Saskatchewan, 10 in Alberta, 5 in British Columbia, and
1 in the Northwest Territories.

The book is handsomely produced, and is particularly aimed at the
pilgrimage tourist.
