Review

After the success of his first cat book, Tyke and Dusty: A Biography of
Two House Cats (1997), MacDonald received many letters from readers,
relating their own amazing cat stories. In this book, he tells 24
amusing tales, each one heartwarming and uplifting.

Whether told through the voice of the author, cat owner, or cat, the
reader is offered an upclose view of a wide variety of situations,
adventures, and lifestyles. There are stories about a cat expedition to
Mt. Everest, a motorcycle-loving cat, a cat that received a citation for
meritorious service, a computer literate cat, a ghost cat, cats living
under a grain elevator, cats living in the inner city, and cats
traveling the world. Through wit and charm, the many felines prove to be
winners and “man’s best friend.”

Readers who enjoy books like James Herriot’s Cat Stories or Chicken
Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul will especially enjoy this book. Its
down-to-earth tone and fine writing make it accessible for readers of
all ages. The color photographs of cats and cat figurines add interest
and a connection to the characters.
