Review

Don Hutchison’s nostalgic salute to pulp-fiction characters is a
history of pulp-fiction magazines and their writers. While not a
critical work, the book manages to cover a great deal of territory and
will likely appeal to aficionados of the pulp heroes of yesteryear.
Unfortunately, the author never aims to present a thesis or any
analysis. Thus, although the subject is interesting, Hutchison writes
too affectionately about it to be taken seriously.
