Review
These two excellent guidebooks for travelers planning to visit Nova
Scotia or New Brunswick are fully illustrated (with more than 350 glossy
colored photographs in each volume) and are small enough to fit into a
pocket.
Both books follow the same basic format, beginning with an overview map
of the province showing the scenic routes or regions that are later
detailed. A short introduction is followed by sections on peoples (a
history of the major ethnic groups); features; places (the main portion
of each guide); and accommodations, attractions, and activities. The
latter section provides prospective visitors with necessary information
on transportation, travel essentials, time zones, selected lodgings,
restaurants, and outdoor recreational activities. Individual chapters
describe the major scenic routes of each province (with separate
regional maps) and include summaries of the main attractions. Nova
Scotia contains information on festivals and events, theatre and
shopping, useful addresses, and special travel services for students,
seniors, and visitors with disabilities.
Readers of these outstanding guides will gain a true appreciation for
the distinct culture, geography, and history of each province, and of
the travel opportunities awaiting them.
