Review

Cancer and arthritis are two conditions that often test the limits of
conventional medicine. As a consequence, people with these diseases may
turn to alternative therapies in the hope of gaining some relief. Aimed
at a lay audience, this book examines with impressive objectivity some
of the many alternative therapies that are available. A range of
therapies, including clinical, chemical, dietary, and herbal approaches,
are considered. The authors carefully note the positive and negative
aspects of each therapy, and stress the importance of discussing any
possible treatment with a physician. The book is easy to read, and while
it contains no glossary, terms are well defined in the text.
