Review

This book by the president of one of the top five moving companies in
North America is more successful in glorifying its author than it is in
dispensing solid business advice.

The book’s 19 chapters present topics of interest to entrepreneurs,
including managing debt, successful partnerships, the need for cost
control, and the importance of quality. Unfortunately, the author does
not deliver much effective guidance. For example, in a chapter titled
“How to Win in the Real Estate Game,” he brags about how much money
he made in various real estate deals and then advises readers to “buy
low and sell high.”

Sometimes, questionable guidance is provided. For example, Moore
recalls that he was able to obtain an agreement with one union when he
agreed to “look after some of [its] members.” He complains about the
inefficiency and waste of government, but brags about the $90,000 he
received from the government for doing nothing.

Five sections at the end of the book contain miscellaneous information,
such as key aspects of entrepreneurship and ways to create unhappy
employees. These sections appear to be a dumping ground for material
that could not be accommodated in the main text.
