Review

The risqué title of this collection of poems is reflective of the
vibrant and dynamic nature of Wilson’s work. She enjoys playing with
words, encouraging her reader to read her poems out loud. But silent or
spoken, she achieves a brilliant marriage of sound and rhythm and poetic
meaning. In Wilson’s poetic universe, female desire and sexuality is
joyfully celebrated as a metaphor for living passionately. There is a
tone of jaded cynicism in some of the poems, but there is also wit and
intelligence and a consistent voice that speaks to the power of
individuality and the sense of self. Poems to read repeatedly include:
“I Saw Jack Kerouac in Montreal,” “This Is Not a Love Poem,”
“It’s All in the Feel,” “The Egg Bank,” and “Roses.”
