Review

This collection of lyrical, intense stories features fierce, sensitive
women and clumsy, brutish men who are perpetually betraying the rarefied
female sensibility. The stories are richly sensual—a single page is
devoted to the comparison of intimacy to a pearl—and capable of
evoking uncanny parallels between the human and animal worlds (one
particularly memorable story is told from the perspective of a dog).
Meeka Walsh’s fictional world exudes a robust and uncompromising
passion.
