Review

This oft-revised collection of readings was first issued in 1962. Now it is more than twice the size of the original, and as well it contains much more “original” material instead of the usual reprints. New to this edition are rewritten sections on government publications, regionalism in Canada, public opinion polling, constitutional concerns, and the survey of provincial elections (a series of tables used as a guide to provincial voting statistics, 1905-1981). Excellent bibliographies conclude each of the 17 major sections. A remarkable book that has always held up well.
