Review

If none of these household hints is dazzlingly original, all are useful. Any one of them might, in fact, be quite crucial at just that certain moment when you’ve suddenly run out of the sugar that the recipe you’re already mixing calls for; the milk has just begun to turn; there’s a grease stain on the upholstery; your shoes squeak; or your tap drips. Among 1001 suggestions, there are bound to be a few that aren’t already familiar. This is a handy little reference book to have around the house, or, more specifically, around the kitchen, the garage, the workroom, the laundry, the garden, the sewing room, even the boudoir. There is a neat fold-back spiral binding, with entries listed by sections in their area of usefulness (i.e., all cooking hints listed in one section). Indexed for quick reference.
