Review

The Canadian Hydrographic Service has reissued its small craft guide for vacationers who wish to travel by boat on the Trent-Severn Waterway System. The third edition (1978) is now cancelled. The new edition has an extended and rearranged general information section. The tables giving weather information for three cities along the route have been updated with the inclusion of data on weather means and years of observations, increasing the reliability of the data. As with the last edition, the service asks the public to inform it of any changes in the waterway; it was the accumulation of such changes that necessitated this edition. There are seven more photographs of ports and sections of the waterway. All photographs are much clearer and better printed than in the previous edition. More geographical sections of the waterway have been considered in conjunction with the extra photographs. Because the waterway guide should be used only with the proper charts, the front of this edition includes a map index to the waterway showing all the relevant charts, in outline, that cover the waterway. This latest guide should mean increased boating pleasure for the public.
