Review

This guidebook deals with accommodation (132 places to stay such as resorts, motels, campsites); with travel to lakes, dams, beaches, and lookout points, by bus, car, and boat (including maps); with things to do (parks, annual events, boat cruises); and with fall fairs, fishing, and sports (plus wildlife), which includes hiking, trails, skiing, flora and fauna, history, and trivia — all of it for the Muskoka region.

The material is eclectically arranged, however, in the manner of a “book of lists,” with no index. Thus, lots of details are scattered with no hope of accessibility. This is a hard book to use without first reading it virtually from cover to cover in order to find out what you need.
