Review

As indicated by the title, The Seasonal Gourmet is a collection of appropriate recipes and menus with which to celebrate Canada’s richly varied seasons. For example, spring is the time for St. Patrick’s Day parties, Easter, and Mother’s Day; summer brings to mind bridal parties, graduations, and outdoor cookery; in autumn we go back to school and plan Thanksgiving and Grey Cup celebrations; and winter, of course, means Open House, Christmas, and New Year’s festivities. For all of these events and more, palate-pleasing suggestions (first published in the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix) are collected here for easy reference. Attractively ring-bound, with easy-to-follow instructions in both imperial and metric measurements; full index.
