Review

The members of the Josephburg Men’s Choir have the answer for seekers after stick-to-the-ribs, plain, honest, satisfying cookery. This group, who originally came together for the shared love of choral music that ordinary folk could understand and enjoy, has now turned its attention to the satisfaction of another of the senses, and the results are indeed impressive. Under six headings (Beverages, Breads, Salads, Main Dishes, Pickles and Relishes, and Desserts) are assembled a collection of recipes that cannot fail to please. The simple, straightforward instructions are attractively displayed and easy to read; fold-back ring-binding is suitable for kitchen use. The recipes are provided with both imperial and metric measurements. Colour photography within is as meltingly delicious-looking as that on the glossy cover, and the recipes are just about as multicultural in origin as the United Nations. A winner.
