Review

First published in 1974, Mr. Chairman has now been revised. Mary Segall is a consultant on procedural rules, she has given continuing education workshops, and she is a Professional Registered Parliamentarian with the National Association of Parliamentarians. Her book is intended for the beginner, and it is applicable to the high school level or to the needs of the small company, since it is written in simple language. Typical topics include: duties of officers, agendas and motions (and types of motions), debates, committees, voting, and bylaws. A valuable chart at the back covers the rules governing motions and the order of precedence.
