Review

This little manual is intended for use as a guide and workbook for adults who are returning to a school, college, or university after being out of the educational system for a time. Well grounded in adult learning theory, it attempts to portray a realistic picture of the trials and tribulations that ensue as the mature student, with her adult responsibilities, adds to her life the insecurities and stress of becoming a student again. While it will be helpful to some people, it may prove frightening to re-entry persons to see the range of problems and to realize that resources for their solutions (such as adult counselling, p.23) may not be readily available.
