Review

Although written for nurses, technicians, chiropractors, dentists, and a wide range of paramedics in the health-care industry, this book is useful for explaining the profession to others, as well. Its wide-ranging topics include the legal institutions of civil courts, criminal courts, coroners’ courts and medical examiners, and disciplinary bodies; the meanings of confidentiality, negligence, consent to treatment; the wisdom of keeping notes; medical ethics; and about 20 legal problems that concern defective equipment, false imprisonment, child abuse, drugs, mental illness, suicide, malpractice insurance, and so forth. Good value for its information.
