Review

Both these books for 3- to 8-year-olds were first published in 1981 and are now re-issued in beautiful editions.

In The Elephant’s New Bicycle, Douglas learns that sharing his toys is much more fun than playing on his own; and in The Elephant’s Cold he discovers that staying in bed with a cold is better than taking it out to play.

The text in both books is clear and interesting, and the illustrations, also done by the author, are charming. For those who love animal personas (and which child does not?), these two would be a good choice.
