Review

This guide was first published in 1973, and the fifth edition appeared in 1982. Rovet covers only Ontario, so the book has limited applicability. Topics include: the individual employment relationship; the statutes that affect conditions of employment (e.g. , Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code); what to do if you are fired, laid off, or injured; appealing wrongful dismissal; and the collective bargaining process (trade unions, certification, negotiations, strikes and lockouts, pickets). There is also a good glossary.
