Review

This is basically a citator, listing both federal and Ontario statutes and regulations (and Canadian case law) having some relevance to public libraries. Part one is the annotated and alphabetical listing of relevant law (with source notes and amendments), while part two is the detailed subject index. The intent of the book is to give some guidance to public library board trustees and their staff, and to this end there are useful appendices that include the text of three Ontario statutes: the Human Rights Code of 1981, the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act of 1983, and the Public Libraries Act of 1984. The citator is collated as of December 1984; it is certainly a useful publication.
