Review

First published in 1976 with supplements issued occasionally (and all tied in with Bibliotech, July 1985-1, which forms a link between the first and second editions of the CSH), this new edition includes expanded features. It provides in-depth coverage of Canadian geography, history, politics, literature, the constitution, the two “official” languages, the native peoples, and the ethnic mosaic. In format it has been careful to follow the latest principles of the Library of Congress Subject Headings and the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules. It has enlarged its cross-reference system. And it has linked itself to the French subject headings in Repertoire de vedettes-matière (published by Universite Laval).
