Review

The citations in this book cover the nature and function of different types of drinking establishments, the characteristics of the patrons, the situational influences on drinking behavior, and the problems associated with drinking in public places. The scope is international, and the formats covered include articles, chapters in books, conference papers, theses, dissertations, reports and monographs. The 151 annotations range from 1891 through 1984 and embody the products of research studies, historical studies, and review articles. The basic arrangement is by surname of author, but while there is full bibliographical citation and annotation for each reference, there is no subject breakout.
