Review

Ken Weber, a much-published emeritus academic who delights that the
devil is in the details, has assembled 100 one-two trivia punches for
which the first challenge is easy but the second much less so. The
fascinating array of examples is diversely drawn from social history,
economics, sports, and technology, and presented with sparkling humor.
As Weber points out, in some cases alternative accounts exist for some
of the anecdotes, but their existence does not diminish the fun. A
reader might wish for references to at least some of the more endearing
items. The format is fitted for the reader accustomed to brief printed
paragraphs and television sound bites. This book is joyously
entertaining.
