Review

Wiggett, a widely published photographer, selected 50 of his favourite shots from the Niagara Falls region of Ontario for this photoessay. Of course the famous falls are the dramatic centre for any pictorial on the area. While Wiggett delivers on this, he also takes his camera away from the thunder and mist to capture views of the tranquil countryside in which the falls are the crown jewel. Peaceful rural roads, glowing floral displays, spectacular skies, quiet lakes, and vivid rainbows all add to the portrait of the region. Wiggett’s landscapes show a range in both subject and mood. From aerial views to close-ups, he gives the impression that he poured his time and undivided interest into finding ways to let the beauty of the area speak through his camera. There is no text, only brief captions.

Browsing through this mini-album will help tourists and day trippers decide on must-see locations. Then, after visiting the region, it makes the perfect souvenir, a visual reminder of one of the most beautiful, and most famous, areas in Ontario.
