Review

Who says learning to cook has to be dull? This new series has collected
some of the most popular recipes in the world and made them so easy to
make, even preteens can master them. Each book features a separate
cuisine and offers everything from appetizers and soups to entrees and
desserts. Individual recipes include ingredient and equipment lists,
simple step-by-step instructions, and a photograph of the dish.

Children looking to try out some Chinese cuisine can make Spring Rolls,
Four Colour Soup, Sweet and Sour Prawns, or Chicken Porridge. Recipes
for Mexican dishes include Chocolate Mexicano, Sopa de Tortilla,
Caldito, Guacamole, Day of the Dead, and Churritos. Those who want to
serve French food can trying making Croque-Monsieur, Gratin de Macaroni,
Poulet en Brochettes, Tarte aux Fraise, and Mousse au Chocolat. Recipes
for Italian dishes include Bruschetta, Crostini, Pizza, Gnocchi al Ragu,
and Risotto.

Adult supervision is recommended for younger readers, but any youngster
who is comfortable using a sharp knife and hot stove is capable of
becoming a junior gourmet. Highly recommended.
