The Prairie Dogs are back for another thrilling episode of adventure that begins when canines Dare and Pierre meet up with Bull at the veterinarian’s office and begin a chase that leads them to the highway, where they are picked up by a dognapper and taken to the city. In the city, Pierre comes up with a plan to escape and eventually they do manage to find freedom, and a warm, safe place for Dare to have her puppies. In the meantime, Mr. Abram’s other dogs are having adventures of their own as they hop a train to follow Pierre and Dare and end up in a train crash, then in a TV camera van. By lucky coincidence are taken to a TV studio where they find Dare and Pierre. The dogs have yet another dramatic encounter with the dognappers, but, with the help of some TV broadcasts, they are happily reunited with Mr. Abram in the end.
This story is pure entertainment where the action never stops and the characters are full of fun and mischief. The dogs are cute and quirky and their impression of humans is amusing. The comedic cigarette-smoking magpie is a fun addition as well. The villains are classic, bumbling bad guys who get their just desserts in the end. The plot is cartoon-like with over–the-top action and incredible coincidences. Seeing how it all works out in the end is a great deal of fun. Recommended.
