Review
In On the Run, Aiden and Meg continue their quest to prove their
parents’ innocence and free them from prison.
The siblings have escaped from the juvenile detention facility where
they had been placed for their own protection. Now, as they follow clues
they hope will lead them to Frank Lindenaurer, the man who was their
parents’ CIA handler and the only person who can prove their
innocence, Aiden and Meg are themselves fugitives from the law.
They find an address for one of Frank’s former girlfriends in Boston
and track her down. But the girlfriend, heeding the siblings’
parents’ pleas for the kids to turn themselves in calls the police and
Meg is arrested. Aiden knows he can’t carry on without Meg and
cleverly helps her escape.
This suspenseful, fast-paced adventure story features ingenious kids
who outsmart their elders for a just cause. Both Aiden and Meg are
strong, daring, and compassionate. The admiration they have for each
other cements their relationship as a team.
The story’s action is serious and intense, but contains amusing
antics as the kids use imaginative and sometimes silly means to achieve
their goals. It also contains moments of reflection that deepen the
reader’s understanding of the characters. This page-turner will appeal
to boys and girls who love fun and adventure. Highly recommended.
